Awarded 2 AA Rosettes, for culinary excellence, our menu showcases the freshest ingredients, sourced by Chef from local farmers, fishermen and producers. You will always find something appetising and enticing on Chef's menu to tickle your fancy. Local fish aplenty, fish and chips cooked in tempura batter. As well as an extensive menu there is a good selection of delicious snacks using the very best seasonal Norfolk produce.

The Kings Head dining experience offers a true taste of north Norfolk living with a warm welcome to match.

Celebrate Christmas with us

Spend Christmas Day with us in the heart of North Norfolk. With a menu that showcases the best of the season, from Staithe Smokehouse smoked salmon and duck liver & foie gras parfait, through to a choice of roasted Norfolk turkey, fillet of beef Wellington, pan-fried turbot or a beetroot Wellington for vegetarian guests. Finish with Dan's sticky toffee Christmas pudding, mince pies and chocolates.

We also have a dedicated Kids' Christmas Day menu, with a choice of turkey, risotto, sausage & mash or battered haddock.

Booking early is recommended, as tables for Christmas Day fill up fast.

Fishing is in Peter Loose’s DNA

He’s a sixth generation Brancaster Staithe fisherman and his family has been fishing the waters off the north Norfolk Coast for over 180 years. Peter specialises in mussels and harvests some of the finest molluscs in the UK - the quality available in Norfolk is second to none. He’s passionate about delivering this to local chefs and fishmongers throughout the county.

Peter’s mussels are harvested from Hunstanton and other fishing grounds in The Wash and grown on in ‘lays’ at Brancaster Staithe before being graded and processed for sale.

Peter says: ‘The seventh generation of my family is now involved with fishing, carrying on the Loose’s tradition of uncles and nephews, fathers and sons, and sometimes even grandfathers and grandsons, working alongside each other at Brancaster, passing down generations of knowledge’.

Peter’s great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, William (Billy) and Robert Loose, were both coxswains of the then Brancaster lifeboat and local fishermen. Robert also travelled the world working on merchant sailing vessels including the tea clipper Taeping.
